2022 Fleur de Roche Malbec

Before it became a star in Argentina, Malbec was a French native, where it most famously powered the tannic, inky-dark “black wines” of Cahors. Fleur de Roche Malbec is a wonderfully rich take that also shows off Malbec’s slightly more serious side – instead of being all about lush, heady blackberry (which there’s plenty of!) you’ll also notice a lovely balance of minerality and freshness, thanks to the clever vineyard team who harvested the grapes early so the fruit wouldn’t be too ripe. Malbec pairs best with steak, but it will also go well with any meaty dish: try flame-grilled spicy sausages, venison loin, or tangy pulled pork.
